When I finished my Raglanify sweater, I immediately went looking through my stash for fiber to spin for another one. It is coming along pretty well. I have spun and plied about 750 yd. of 3 ply yarn. That makes me about 2/3 of the way through the spinning part of the project. In the meantime I needed another project on the needles.
I don't know how I missed seeing this pattern, Batak by Stephen West, when it came out. A member of my spinning guild showed a picture of it to me last weekend. I've wanted to make a 'pleated' project for years. Though slightly putsy, it is an easily memorized pattern and exactly what I was looking for. Color, an interesting technique and a carry with project easy enough to knit while having a conversation. What's not to like?
