Zak in charge

It’s a good thing someone is keeping a watchful (sometimes sleepy) eye.  Nothing is the same around here.

Zak’s in charge.

Just because, and so that those who really don’t want to spend the time seeing the non fiber parts, Clapotis comes first.  In "real" life, she is the last part of the day, when I collapse in my chair in front of the TV, she is my pick up and knit project for the season.  I’ve decided to add a few extra repeats to the straight section.  It was looking to be a tad short if I wanted to use it as a shawl.  The pattern calls for an overall length of 55".  I want 60 plus or more.  Anyone weigh in on this?

  1. Ahhh yes, tis the season over at your place.

  2. I think you must have my dream job… I love decorating for Christmas… my brother pays me to decorate his offices… I LOVE IT.

  3. There’s just something about cats and boxes. And what an amazing onslaught of Christmas cheer!

  4. It may get old to you, but the photos are beautiful and festive:)

  5. It’s your busy time of year! Love the idea of a long Clap.

  6. Manise

Yup, the holidys in full swing! How are those bows coming along? πŸ˜‰ Lovely Clapotis! Longer clap sounds great, but are you intimating you don’t have enough yarn? That yarn ball looks smallish. Or are those the left overs?

  7. Wow I see lots and lots of work ahead. And I don’t mean Clapotis.
I think Clap’s best use is as a shawl. Let me know what you think when you are done.

  8. It seems to be a good idea to lengthen it for the shawl, esp. for your height. I’m don’t like an overloading of Christmas hotchka about, but there can be never enough live plants/flowers. I realize the bulk of yours have a deadline and will be on it’s way out. What beautiful plants!

  9. That looks like a big order ! Are you making wreaths with all the stuff in the boxes ?
Your clapotis looks very nice, I like the color and the yarn a lot. I just made one out of Noro Silk Garden, alternating between two balls which creates stripes. Totally different than yours πŸ™‚

  10. Who better to be in charge than Zak? He looks like he takes most things in stride.
Clapotis must be a comforting project to sink your hands into after a full day.

  11. Oh Dear God. Thank goodness you’ve got some mindless knitting and Zak to help, or you’d be totally lost in that sea of Christmas decorations.

  12. And so begins the crazy season. πŸ˜‰ Good luck!

  13. Your Clapotis is beautiful. I made one early in my knitting life and I wasn’t happy with my yarn choice. I’ve been thinking more and more about knitting another one. Yours has me a bit inspired to move this idea to the top of my knitting “to do” list. Very pretty.

  14. Hang in there, you’re almost finished for the season! πŸ™‚
Hope your able to get some rest and a bit of knitting in these decorating days.
Will you be posting pics of some of your finished works?

  15. I made my Clapotis out of Malabrigo and I made it to the pattern specs and I wish it were longer…for what that’s worth.
    Zak’s so pretty!
