walk with me wednesday

If you can walk between the raindrops, or at least between the downpours, there isn’t anything sweeter than the smell of the woods in the spring rain.  And rain, it has.

If I were to be dropped here blindfolded,  in this wood full of tall pines, I’d like to think I’d know it by the smell.

Something else came home with me last weekend.

… a lovely Forrester, one of his pyroglyphs.

  1. That’s a gorgeous spindle!

  2. Love the photos – we are in the middle of downpour season ourselves. There would be no rainforest without the rain!

  3. It was meant to be yours. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I can just imagine the smell *sniff* ahhhh.

  5. Wish we could smell some rain over here too ! It hasn’t rained for more than 7 weeks now, it hasn’t been this warm and dry in 300 years. Imagine how the farmers feel !

  6. Lovely walk as always. LOVE the spindle…it’s raining here today, too.

  7. When we first bought our place in Walden, as soon as I got out of the car, it smelled like “home” – whatever that is. I’d recognize that scent anywhere.

  8. What a refreshing walk! Love that Forrester-what a great design!

  9. Lovely rain pictures. Especially the pine needles.

  10. After several clear, blue days I’m listening even now to the rain on the roof. It’s a soothing sound. Perfect for the freshly mown yard and newly planted tomato plants.
