more travels with cats

Yesterday I noticed that a few of my comments hadn’t showed up in my email.  Typepad is at it again.  This time I am not going to change my email address.  I’ll keep checking the blog to see if there are comments, but it makes answering them just about impossible.  Unless you are already in my address book, or if you have a blog that is listed with your comment, I just can’t find you.  All in all, Typepad has been working for me pretty well for the past couple months, seems that long, anyway.  Weird, how that same problem has resurfaced. So much for getting the bugs out.  Now.you.know.  If I don’t respond, it’s not me, I’ve got a scapegoat.

In answer to your questions…

  • my wave when I drive by neighbor with the Bud… I had to laugh, seems as though he has been referred to as the stinky-dog man, he just wanted to shortcut through my woods on the way to a job he had further up the hill cutting firewood.  I bet he was surprised to find us out and about, maybe caught in the process.   Nice guy.  Nice dog, likes skunks and this is a skunky time of the year.  My yard is covered in holes.  The beer???? Maybe he was carb loading for a physical day?  He probably gets up around 5am and figured it was already the middle of the morning.  Oh, who knows.
  • Yep, my cats DO love me.  Don’t laugh, I am quite sure cats know affection.
  • How we travel… There is a cat carrier on the back seat with the door open.  I also have a folded softsided carrier in the trunk.  These are as much for emergencies as  cat comfort.  Bu has taken to riding in the one on the back seat.  It has a blanket insde and she just curls up with her face forward and paws hanging out.  It’s her cozy cave where she is safe from the boys.  Zak and Sam, you can see how they travel.  Zak ALWAYS gets the driver’s lap.  If Sam gets there first,  Zak keeps tapping him until he moves over or leaves.   If I happen to be in the passenger’s seat, then Sam will sit with me.  Occasionally Bu demands lap time.  Her attitude ALWAYS prevails.  Other cat comforts are in the car.  I fear breakdowns with three cats and need to feel prepared.  If, one CAN be prepared.
  • I have begun the heel of the ribbed socks.  I will switch to two circs as soon as I get to the bottom of the heel flap.  I want that tighter #1 needle knit on the heel and sole of the foot.

I hope this post is a bit more coherent.  I was rambling, I know it.  This morning I had a cup of coffee.  I can’t stay away forever.  A pinch of the dog….

  1. Yeah – all that makes sense. Especially the coffee. I gave it up over a year ago and fell deep back into the grounds in the last few weeks. There’s something about coffee on a fall morning while holding yarn and contemplating the garden.

  2. Oh, I love your banner – first time I have seen it – and it’s probably been up for weeks!

  3. I love how your cats travel with you. That’s awesome.
