It’s been a very busy week so far. Knitting has taken place only at night. As the days have necessarily stretched into the evenings, the nights have become quite short. And, then there is the matter of staying awake. The sleeves of the Funnel Neck progress, slowly. So slowly, in fact, that I have completely given up the idea of having a new sweater to wear to SPA. (I am still in the NO SPA, GO SPA dilemma with so much to accomplish here, new projects, business ad campaign…) Sleeves can put me to sleep without the long days. Last night, I left them, the sleeves, in their bag and continued on the scarf. Much More FUN! Here’s where I left off..
I’m well into the second ball of yarn, the repeating colors are showing up quite nicely. The plan is to use one more full ball and then the beginning of the fourth to match the two ends color-wise.
A lot of dyeing has been happening. I’m behind in the skeining, it’s hard to make myself stay put long enough to get it all done. The days have been glorious. Cold, frigid temps are predicted to return this weekend so I want to get in some walking while its warm and lovely.
The coyotes were singing (howling) early last evening. I keep hoping the peepers have the sense to stay put. It’s feeling like peeper weather.
* oh, is it just me or has Bloglines been dropping the ball again?

Is your area showing frighteningly early signs of spring, too? Along with my snowdrop, I have daffodils budding. It’s all out of whack. Our daffodils usually don’t really start coming into their own until mid to late March. That’s here in Middle Earth. At least the black-eyed junkos (do you have them?) are still here. They won’t leave until it’s time for warmth up north. I still can’t get over the wild turkeys. That just blew me away.
That stole is incredible. Lovelovelove the color!
I hope you decide to GO SPA. I haven’t noticed anything too much with bloglines. What have you seen?
Hmmm……that scarf is still looking like it belongs here in my house…..LOL! I LOVE it!!
I’m still not sure about going to spa for the day on Saturday, but before I cancel my room at the Doubletree, if you would like it, you can have it 😉

Hi – I’ve just been admiring some of the gorgeous work on your site! Your scarf is coming out so beautifully! I love this sort of thing – the colour changes really keep my interest.
I remember reading about this exact dyeing technique (knitting/dyeing/reknitting in an old issue of Threads must have been 1990-91. If I recall correctly they did a zig zag patterned fair isle sweater in blues for the zig and oranges for the zag. Stunning actually!
I started dyeing really long colour repeats on some of my rovings that come out very similar to this techniqe but I also staggered my starting points on the spinning so the colors also blend in the plying, which I have to say I’m really pleased with!

Don’t like this much warmth..on the other hand, I really like not freezing to and from work. I’m fickle. I like the scarf colorations. Gentle, harmonious.
