endings and beginnings

Friday morning before I did anything else, Mom’s Wool Peddler had her bath.

She was spun dry in the washing machine ( for a very short time) and spread out on the bed to dry.  Strict instructions were left to KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED.  Right, that would account for the cat whisker I found on her later in the afternoon.  Zak was careful, she dried perfectly, no pulls and is ready to send out, just a week late.

When I got home from a wonderful, relaxing, we’re almost on the other side kind of an afternoon with Cindy, a package was waiting.  Jean, I wasn’t expecting it, thank you SO much for a wonderful surprise.  I WILL use  the Kid silk Haze.  I have been wanting to try it.  Sorry it gave you trouble.  Let’s hope the karma has changed.  That is one of my favorite colors at this moment.  I’m thinking "Birch".  I haven’t made it yet, or "Kiri".  Wonderful.  In addition to everything shown in the picture, there was another container with espresso beans covered in dark chocolate.  I ripped right into those.  Whew!! Dark chocolate AND caffeine!!  Okay….!!!

New Year’s Eve was quiet.  Most of the day, I was sitting home enjoying Podo all decorated for the holidays; spinning and drinking wine with fiber friends.  In the evening,  C and I had dinner at home, a fire in the fireplace.   I began the Celtic Harbor Hat.  That’s it.. nearly perfect.

New Year’s day, was a work day.  Those poinsettias have GOT to go, weird huh?? Hey, Christmas trees have been littering the streets on garbage nights, all week.  People can’t wait for the holidays to come, and they can’t get them over fast enough.

Zak and I worked in the office, picking up, setting up, and listening to my current audiobook.  I’ve reserved the next one from the library, I’m in a queue..a month’s wait.  That’s the problem with a trilogy, isn’t it?

ps. apologies to Jean for not linking to her blog.. the link isn’t in my head nor on my computer, just Bloglines, and they are down this morning.
