Yesterday, Beth wrote and asked if I was considering the idea of working two halves of the Branching Out Scarf and grafting them at the center. Keep in mind here that my answer / decision is entirely based on the word ‘CENTER’. ‘GRAFT’ is might be another fly in the ointment here, but I was willing, should it have worked that way, to give it a go. You can decide, based on the information I’m about to reveal here, whether the Knitting Goddess was for me or against me on this one.
I dragged out my scale ( life morphs.. remember that )..
The math is definitely against me. Given that I also measured the present length at 28 inches… I am WAY PAST my center point. I’ll be lucky if I get more than about 37" (unblocked, I’m remaining hopeful, it IS stretchy) out of this. Hmmmm… I will continue. There is a place for short scarves, somewhere, I’m sure of that. Anyone know where that place might be?
I generally don’t put political ‘hot button’ stuff in the blog here, but this story was forwarded to me by an old friend, a man in his late 70’s. I went to the paper itself and downloaded the link and read the article. It’s called SOLDIER BOY. Should our military really start recruitment with our 14 yr. olds??

It seems like a lot of trouble to graft that scarf unless you like the idea. I’m for the easy way…who will notice if the leaves are going up or down?
I’m with Margene on that. Just enjoy yourself. Its too much worrying for a scarf.
