  • Happy Valentine’s Day

I’ve a long drive today.  With luck, I’ll be the passenger, not the driver, and can get another repeat or two knitted on Oh! Canada.  Three more to go.

Happy Valentine’s Day my friend. Safe trip up and may you be the knitter not the driver on the way up!

    2. Enjoy your knitting and V-Day, too!

    3. Hooray for being the passenger! Hope your drive is uneventful – Happy Valentine’s Day!

    4. Oh, I just saw you’re listening to Water for Elephants! That was my beach book last summer, I really enjoyed it. She expressed very well what I imagine old age to be like.

    5. Great photo. Happy Valentine’s Day.

    6. Up or down? Happy Valentines Day! Passenger knitting is always welcome.

I so enjoy your headline photo of the llama and the sheep!

    8. I’ve tagged you for a meme. This is my first one and I hope I’ve done it right. I love your textural pictures.

  • cables and lace

At the rate I’m going, I figure it will take me 7 days to finish Oh! Canada.  Seven!  Then there is the graft.  Knitting is for the evening.  Dyeing is left for daylight when I’m not in the office.  But… dreaming.. that is all the time.  Dreaming, I do!  Lately, I’m seeing cables and lace everywhere.  Something is brewing.

It is there, isn’t it?  Just in case you don’t see it, please shake your head quietly and be kind.  I can see it.

    1. Of course I see it. Although, the picture of the cantaloupe (that is a cantaloupe isn’t it?) kind of creeps me out.

    2. Yeah, cantaloupes are kinda ugly up close. I’m just glad you didn’t post a macro shot of the seeds!

    3. It’s not just you–I see it too! Except the last picture, I can’t figure out what that is. (Seeds sprouting? Pasta maker? Exotic marine life?… 😉

    4. Cable-ing cantaloupes. I wonder what else could be found in the fruit and vegetable portion of my local grocery that would make one think of cables and lace. Knitting really can be found everywhere.

    5. *sigh* I can see it. For whom does that portend worse (or better?), you or me?
      Rootlets? Last picture?

    6. I can totally see it. I don’t think those cantaloupes are ugly close up! I think it’s actually quite beautiful if you look at the patterning 🙂

    7. I so enjoy stopping by here and looking through your lens 😉
      Dream on!

    8. Manise

It certainly is there! I see it. Love the netting on your cantaloup! What’s that rooting in the water? Narcissi, hyacinths? Scallions?

    9. My question is, How often do you find yourself counting crossovers, k2ps & ssks, and figuring the maths for the patterns? 🙂
Your Blues colorway is so bright and cheerful these long days of winter!

    10. Roxie

Cables and lace for sure! I think the muskmelon skins are beautiful! And the rootlets are exquisitely pre-spring. Life burgeoning under the surface.

    11. I love those pictures, great textures. Of course the patterns are there! Intertwining cables, yarnovers, the imperfect stitches, the dropped ones. Nature is perfect and imperfect at the same time.

    Gust
    pattern: Anne Hanson of Knitspot
yarn: Arequipa from Ball and Skein in "storm"
    needles: Knitpicks #4

It was a very dark day.  Too dark and too rainy for much in the way of pictures.   This little scarf is as light as its name.  A fast knit,  easily memorized.   I added 6 pattern repeats to mine.

    1. Very pretty, and Anne creates great patterns. I got my yarn today, it is lovely.

    2. I think the photo is tremendous.

    3. I love Anne’s patterns too. This one is just sensational! Such a pretty knit, and presented just as prettily!

    4. Manise

      Oh, my! That’s beautiful Judy!

    5. I love it…my kit hasn’t come yet! I cna’t wait…I ordered the storm colorway as well.

    6. Looks great, even on a dark day…love the border…and that Storm colorway! (but I’ve told you that already, haven’t I?)

    7. Absolutely gorgeous. Matches the stormy night we had here last night.

    8. This version is breathtaking! The simpler colorway really lets the texture shine. And what a photo, too… it’s perfect.

    9. Beautiful scarf, beautiful picture.

    10. It is gorgeous!

    11. Oooh pretty. I think that is the color I ordered. (I’d be depressed about how fast I forget stuff like that except that it makes every package kind of a present. And presents are always good.)
      I think that’s a lovely photo.

    12. Linda

Another of Anne’s beautiful lace patterns I want to make. Nice choice of color.

    13. Very pretty! Can’t wait.

    14. Your version is very pretty !

    15. I just love that picture! And the scarf is beautiful too.

    16. Oh that’s stunning! And the view is fine from here!

    17. Roxie

Wonderfully atmospheric photo that still displays the gorgeous knitting. Bravo on two artistic accompplishments!

    18. Hello there – it was nice to meet you at the Sheep and Wool Festival today. My mom, http://www.said-the-hobbit.blogspot.com, and I are so excited to knit with your Tashi. It’s just gorgeous! Cheers, Sarah
