That’s it…two bobbins of Bess & Co. plied, washed and hanging to dry.

changes
There have been a few changes around here. It took hours, well… days, to photograph and upload all the images of the new yarns and colors I have worked on this winter. Many of you saw them at SPA. For those of you that didn’t, here’s a peek at some of the new. To make things easier, I have separated the yarns into three groups, each having it’s own "album" on the sidebar.
- My Own Merino & Silk Hand Dyed Yarn. This is the yarn I have spun for me. I have it in a single ply and a 2 ply.
- Lovely Lace Weight Yarns. There are several different blends, a merino/silk, an alpaca/silk, and a pure alpaca.
- Sock Yarn. wool & nylon, machine washable.
That’s the line up for now. When I can remember my old skills (whew.. am I really calling it skill) at making a web page or two, I will shift it over to a new web site. For the time being, it all stays here, at smatterings. I hope this makes it easier to browse through.
On to knitting!!
I had planned on showing my completed Trellis. I had one more pattern row, one purl row and the bind off. After falling asleep FIVE times on the pattern row, wake up.. rip back start knitting, fall asleep, keep knitting…. on and on, I decided to wait for morning. Who knew?? I can’t do a double decrease in my sleep.

Sometimes it’s best to know when to give it up for the night.

Hi Judy. Several times this week I have thought about posting just to tell you that I think you post the prettiest pictures of anybody.
I just bought a skein of that Mountain Spring. Couldn’t help myself.
Oh, and I’m putting the feeders out tomorrow!! I think of you every time. 🙂 -
Heh – what Carole said. Yep – that ought to be a clue it’s time to just call it a night and go to bed. I’ve been there every night this week myself!

I’m thrilled to see sock yarn! I couldn’t resist at SPA.

*sigh* I really wish I wasn’t allergic to camelids.

walk with me wednesday
Inspiration and promise…
It was the wind, the howling bitter wind, that kept me from my walk this week. As I slogged my way around blogland, I saw pictures not only promising spring’s arrival, but daffodils. I checked the hummingbird migration chart and sure enough, the movement north had begun. But, when I looked out my own windows, there was winter…everywhere. Only the bird chatter held promise. I started to walk around the house, looking for inspiration… for the promise. It was everywhere. I was surrounded. The trick to seeing is to open your eyes and your mind. I started taking pictures of all the lovely orchids in bloom. You’ve all seen them, so I changed my tack. Maybe you’ve not seen the promise.

(they came, I tried, and I love them)

inspiration is the easy part… I’ll bet it’s at your house too.
(or maybe color and texture??)

Great photos, all of them, but that yarn? Wow!
-
Just this morning I heard the cocphony of birds sounds that held the most promise.
-
Wow, you got a little sneaky with those pics;) Very nice! The yarn?
-
Dude the yarn? Some of those those colors were definitely NOT there yesterday! Pure porn! The sock yarn- is that available or has that skein been sucked up already? Looks like “Sparrow”.
-
There is little promise outside right now. What’s not under the snow is still fast asleep.
In the house, I’ve started feeding the houseplants again. -
Awright, now I’m going to be longing for pussywillows.
-
Of course you have indoor greenery to photograph. Me, with kitties and a black thumb…not so much. I’ll enjoy yours!

Did ya see my woodpecker at cindyknits?

Oh, that’s lovely! What wheel are you spinning on? Those bobbins don’t look familiar. But then again I’m a newbie.
That’s a fair bit of time. Good ole Bess.
Yeah, what they said. Nice spinning! What bobbins?
Glad to see you’ve joined Saturday Spin In!
