I spent the entire day in the office trying to catch up. It’s billing time, and that ‘s what I did. No cookouts or parades, just the cmputer. During the spells while I waited for the stuff to print, I finished reading The Kite Runner. I can’t say enough about this book. Read it! It’s not the easiest book, subject wise. You’ll be glad you read it, it’ll stay with you, and perhaps give you an insight into another culture with whom we are presently entwined. After finishing the book, I put my wheel on the deck and alternately spun and worked / waited for something to print. Not a bad way to multitask. There is a full bobbin of the mixed fiber (alpaca, mohair, wool) stuff I’ve been spinning to show for it (finally) and another just on the wheel. The day was beautiful, the laundry dried and it was quiet. Now, at the end of the day, it feels like I was sitting way too much, no action. Some days are like that…
Happy Fourth..

ps. Cathy, the best part was knowing we were having a virtual spin-in.

Wasn’t the Kite Runner wonderful? Really not my kind of book at all–which is to say, it didn’t particularly appeal to me–but I was convinced, and I was so glad that I had been. Excellent.
The insight into the culture was worth the price.
