The coyotes have moved in closer. Maybe it’s been the explosive sound and flashing lights of the fireworks all weekend. But, for the past couple nights, I have been wakened just before dawn by the yipping of a pack of young coyote pups. I hear them run through the woods behind the house, never sounding like they are in pursuit of anything, but noisy just the same. It must wake Zak, too. A minute later, I’ll feel him nosing my hand or tapping me on the head, asking for a head scratch. I’ll check the clock, sure enough, 4:30am. Damn early. At least the cats are in the house sleeping. I go back to sleep. I saw another coyote in the orchard recently. They are coming in.
Another night without much knitting. I got a few rows of the second sock done, and started the pattern sequence. That’s it. I think I’ve finally gotten a handle on the office stuff. At 11pm last night I called it quits. This morning, I’m wrapping it up. Knitting starts up again. Tonight is the Tuesday group at RI Handspun, I’m ready!
I think I’ve also gotten the hang of the ipod thanks to Beth, her DH and other blogging pals. It’s really too early to say, I don’t want to jinx it now, but there is music on the thing, it hasn’t been thrown through the window (tho’ it came awfully close) and I am getting stuff together to load onto it. See how optimistic I am? After reading entries into ipod chats, I am not the only one.. what’s up with apple? why no directions??

I’m hating that Typepad doesn’t remember any info! The upgrades seems good, however. Apple always says things are ‘intuitive’. I’m still waiting to get an iPod. The coyotes sound eerie and exciting all at once.
I loved to lay in bed and listen to “our” pack run the ridge behind our house at night.
And how did you get a “free” iPod? I meant to ask the other day….
