  • walk with me wednesday

    or NaBloPoMo #5

Okay.. this'll be hard for me, especially as I'll be nearly without internet next week. I'll post and save.  Or something.

Today's walk yielded amazing textures.  Now that the trees are nearly bare, the light is back.  I know that sounds funny considering the shortness of daylight and the weaker sunlight.  But, at least the light now reaches the ground.  So much better to see it with, and there are shadows.

Reminiscent of a sumi painting, the lichens create a landscape.

Beautiful lichen landscapes! And yes, we will have a full moon soon- tomorrow. A Beaver Moon. 🙂

  • 10000 steps

As of 10 pm tonight, Fitbit has recorded 10752 steps. My daily goal is 10000. I don't make it everyday. I try. Life and work have a bad habit of getting in the way.

Getting outdoors and poking around is my pleasure.  On days like today, when the temps hitting the high 50s in November, the decision to get out there is easy. After unloading the truck and reorganizing the display and inventory from last weekend's show, we took off for the beach.

There won't be many more days like this for a while.

I have the same daily Fitbit goal. It has been beautiful weather this week. Hoping is lasts a wee bit longer. Beautiful beach view and sunset.

  • time changing

Yesterday I was still packing the truck, inside a huge building, when the sun went down.  I missed the impact of the time change.  Today, it hit.  I didn't manage to leave for my walk until after 3:30.  It was glorious, sunny and with that crispness that's autumn in New England.

By the time I finished my third mile, the sun was heading down to meet the hilltop.  I must remember to get an earlier start now.  By 5pm, it was dark enough that I was happy to be long out of the woods.

Yes, I missed Nov. 1.  I'll make it up.  I don't have internet access everyday, so.. we'll see.

Yup that fading light certainly makes for longer shadows these days. Beautiful trees btw.
