  • ‘Have a safe trip home, Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas ..

..and we'll see you next season.'

Our show season has come to an end for this year. We'll miss catching up with our vendor friends, show after show as the year progresses. And for this while, we'll miss getting to meet and make new show friends. It has been a lot of fun and a lot of work.

I wouldn't want any other way.

Tonight, as wind howls, it's great to be home. I'm ready to curl up in my chair and spend some time relaxing. It won't be long, maybe even tomorrow, until I'll be planning, and dreaming for the next time.

My thanks to everyone who works so hard to make these fiber festivals happen.

  • Last of the season

The last yarn has been dyed in the 'outdoor' studio for the season. The temperatures have fallen, mornings bring a thin crust of ice on my water buckets, and frankly, it is just too chilly to stand in the unheated barn all day. I've been carrying the washed skeins to the house to dry on racks next to the woodstove for the past few weeks. It has been so rainy, nothing dries quickly on the lines. As much as I enjoy my barn dye studio, I'm ready to move indoors for the winter. The timing was perfect this year. All the yarn I planned to dye for the fall shows is finished, the last show this weekend.

The Fiber Festival of New England is held at the Big E in W. Springfield, MA. The entire festival is indoors and heated. What better for a rainy cold weekend. Come see us! Ball and Skein has booths 367,368 & 369 East. If you've been before, we're in the same location as past years.

Such strong blues and bold reds! Rich color…. and beautiful! Always good to see what has been happening in your dye pots… Enjoy the festival!

Ha! Love that low to the ground shot in line with Sam’s eyes. Beautiful leaves.
