Something for you

It was a great week with my family.  The first day of their visit, we went to the Orleans County Fair.  It was the same day as the Demolition Derby; there was something for everyone.  By the end of the day, I’d bought a fleece.  It was sopping wet from all the rain and as I found out later, full of burdock.  It has been well skirted and now waits for a bath.  Sooner than later would be good, but…. I am way too busy.  It was one of four fleeces that I acquired that week.  The other three were alpaca, two white, and one a gorgeous grey.   Knitting didn’t happen.  I managed to kitchener the toe of one sock.  That’s it.

Funny how the quiet settles in immediately.  Must be a state of mind. The car had no sooner rounded the bend in the drive, when the week disappeared and what remained was silence, thick and heavy.

Even more silent now that so many of the birds have hauled themselves off for points south. Glad your week was fun.
Wish I was going to the VT S&W, but I’ve got previous commitments. Hope they pick your booth clean!

  3. You know what they say about silence! I wouldn’t know, but I’ve heard about it πŸ˜‰ Good luck at the festival! Sure wish I could go…

  4. Four fleeces in one week! That’s impressive. πŸ™‚
I wish I were going to VT… maybe next year?

  5. I hope Vermont S&W is good this year! I was hoping to make it up there, but I don’t think I will. I suppose I can’t hit them all though, no matter how much I’d like too!

  6. I MAY be able to make it – hope to see you – will be sure to stop in for a hug if it all comes together…..
