I saw the Ten on Tuesday subject long after I had written my post.  It looked like fun and I do read a lot of series.  I checked out all of the ToT links and thanks to all, have a new reading list .  I tend to get stuck on an author if I've enjoyed a book, often reading everything they've written, one after the other.  That sort of makes it a series. Hope you enjoy exploring some of my favorites.

So here's my list, 10 Favorite Books in Series, in no particular order, a couple days late.

Makepeace Headly Series,  Diana Norman.  I read these after reading another series by the same author under the name Ariana Franklin

Mistress of the Art of Death, Ariana Franklin  ..historical fiction, loved every book

Mary Russell,  Laurie King   ..a Sherlock Holmes spinoff..what if he married.

Outlander, Diana Gabaldon  

Pillars of the Earth,  Ken Follet  ..I've read most of his books, these were particulary descriptive. 

Dirk Pitt series, Clive Cussler   .. outrageous adventure.  Just for fun.

Slains series, Susanna Kearsly    .. after reading so many in the Outlander series, I found these to be very interesting.  Starts with The Winter Sea.  

Stones for Ibarra, Harriet Doerr    .. Consider this Senora..not really a series but they meshed perfectly.

The Fountainhead,  Ayn Rand  with Atlas Shrugged

Chronicles of Narnia,  CS Lewis   Wonderful.  Read during my search of creation myths.

Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, The Hardy Boys, Sherlock Holmes…

and on and on.
