The paths are snow covered. After a new snow fall, the walking is easy. The snow crunches gives my boots footing. Other days, it is icy and I can only walk a short distance without slipping. I go where I can, there is so much to explore. This is the coldest part of the year. All of the ponds and lakes are frozen now, and snow covered. Only the fastest streams are still open. And, those that are, wear lace.

I see so many pictures.
Found gifts. I can't choose and take as many as I can before my fingers go numb with cold.
I'm reminded how beautiful winter is, and why I love it.

Excellent pictures, Judy. You really captured the texture and patterns.
Your winter pictures of snow and ice bring out the artwork of nature. Very interesting and arresting.

Great photos! The ice doesn’t even look real.
Those are beautiful! I hear you on the frozen fingers!
Gorgeous photos! I can almost smell the clean water — and I can also feel the near-frostbitten fingers!
Wonderful to see your winter.
Mine hasn’t been as gorgeous, but we did see our resident bald eagle the other day.
