walk with me wednesday

(Sorry, I walked yesterday, while there was a chance.  I had my camera along, of course.  The first shot,  I got just what I was thinking I wanted,  where I wanted to take my thoughts.  Second.. nope, the batteries went dead.  Today, there isn’t a chance I’ll get out to walk.  C. just had one of the guys drive him home.  The stomach flu.  Big problem, I think I have it too.  Bigger problem, I have to pick up my sister and my niece at 5:30pm for a week long visit.  Keep your fingers crossed for me, huh?  They wanted to go right from the airport to a great Vietnamese restaurant.  Sounds chancy to me.  whew!)

I am all about texture this week. I was lucky enough to get the remainder of a lot of a wonderful wool silk yarn.  It is remarkably like Silky Wool.  Same as, in my opinion.  It is a wonderful 65% wool/ 35% silk tweed yarn, somewhere between a dk and a worsted.  It drinks up color.  The result is a very variegated tweed in a shaded colorway.  I’m very happy with it.  I’ve got three colors to offer so far.

The put up is in 220 yd (2 oz+) skeins, before dyeing.  I am dyeing 8 skeins to a colorway.  My pots can’t really do more and allow me to have any control with this weight yarn.  It’s in the sidebar, or will be, soon.

  1. Sending good thoughts your way so we feel up to visitors (and a walk). Take care. The colors are, as usual, breathtaking.

  2. Oh no! Maybe it’s just the suggestion of being sick and not really being sick. Here’s hoping. And hug Linda for me, will ya? But don’t give her the stomach flu.

  3. Your color sense is the best on the web! Honestly. Just gorgeous.

  5. That orange is unspeakably gorgeous and tempting. Almost as much as the blue.

  13. Beautiful, beautiful yarns! I really love the bright promise of the orange.
The tree trunk looks really old and craggy. Like a wise woman weathered and worn in her twilight years.

  14. Are you alive still? How awas the visit?
