The first sock for Socktoberfest is finished. Technically, I finished it in September, but it was late Saturday night. Adhering to proper sock knitting procedure, I immediately cast on the second sock.
This is not the way the color looks to me in "real" life. Reds have been eluding me lately. Seems there is always too much blue or too much orange. Photoshop and I have been so far unable to come to an agreement on the right shade of red.
The yarn is Ellen’s 1/2 Pint Farm’s merino/nylon sock wt.. On #1s and 2s, the fabric is soft and dense with great definition.

Beautiful!
Pretty sock!
It’s a beauty!
Lots of digital cameras are challenged when it comes to getting reds right, and also turquoise. When film didn’t capture colours correctly it was a characteristic of the film, but we seem to expect digital cameras to be perfect….
Nice sock! Must start socktoberfest, but first the ISEIII scarf….
Red is THE hardest color to capture with a digital camera…but I can tell this yarn is PRETTY!
I have no luck whatsoever photographing reds – which is ironic because its my favorite color. I don’t know enough about photography to know if its something with digital cameras or if its always tricky.
The sock against the yellow leaves is gorgeous.
